Five star NCAP safety rating for Citroen DS5

Every day I walk past a dealer of used cars in York, and I say to myself I need a car. It’s been a few months since I sold my old car, and I just haven’t found a car that I really like but recently after hearing about the Citroen DS5′s NCAP safety score, I’m thinking about getting that car.
The new Citroen DS5 has been awarded a five star NCAP safety rating with a 97% score in the ‘Safety Assist’ category.
I am not surprised the new Citroen DS5 received a very high score, as the Citroen does features a reinforced body structure and a range of protection-enhancing technologies and safety features, including Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist, Intelligent Traction Control, an advanced speed-limiter/cruise control system and a cornering light function.
The Citroen DS5′s ‘Creative Technologie’ equipment was responsible for the NCAP safety results. The technology includes:
• A new-generation Lane Departure Warning System that uses a camera built into the upper part of the windscreen to assess the road ahead and will alert the driver when they drift off line.
• An automatic high-beam function that, using images processed from the same camera, will activate and deactivate the high-beam setting depending on lighting conditions and surrounding traffic.
• A colour head-up display that shows key driving information – including speed, speed-limiter/cruise control and navigation system settings – directly in the driver’s view.
